FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered): The organization which coined the term “previvor”, FORCE provides a wealth of information and resources for women with a hereditary risk for breast and ovarian cancer. Previvors can connect with other high-risk women via the site’s message board. www.facingourrisk.org

Bright Pink: Bright Pink provides education and support to young women who are at high risk for breast and/or ovarian cancer. The organization empowers young women to take control of their health. www.brightpink.org

Previvors: Facing the Breast Cancer Gene and Making Life-Changing Decisions: The first comprehensive guide for women with a high risk for breast cancer, this book combines the stories of five courageous women with research based on interviews with more than 70 leading medical experts. The site also provides a forum for women who wish to read other previvors’ stories, as well as links to dozens of other helpful websites. www.previvors.com

Susan G. Komen for the Cure: The Komen Foundation is the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research and providing pertinent information about the disease. www.komen.org

American Cancer Society: This organization provides detailed information regarding all forms of cancer. The user-friendly site includes numerous articles, facts and figures regarding breast cancer. www.cancer.org

National Cancer Institute: The government agency that provides the most up-to-date research regarding all forms of cancer. Through this comprehensive site, women can learn, for instance, about clinical trials and the latest statistics involving breast cancer. www.cancer.gov
